For the past three years, my stepson has been enduring abuse under the roof of his mother and stepfather, a heinous situation that has been overlooked by the very systems set up to protect him. Despite his cries for help and our continuous efforts to seek assistance, the system has failed him time and again due to the actions of corrupt individuals within the police department and Child and Youth Services (CYS), who choose to cover up the truth rather than act upon it.

My stepson has not been alone in his plight. He has bravely shared his story with organizations like Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA), who have been unwavering in their support. Sadly, it seems that besides BACA and his biological family, the school, and others efforts, he is met with silence and inaction. This neglect has only compounded his suffering, leaving him feeling unheard and abandoned by those who should be fighting for his safety, but now he's unreasonably 302'd(institutionalized) but his mother and corrupt CYS individuals to further blame my Stepson rather than the actual problem at hand.

It's disheartening and utterly unacceptable that corruption and bias within the systems designed to protect children are allowing such abuses to persist. We have proof to support every statement, yet these critical incidents continue to be swept under the rug. Children, like my stepson, should be guaranteed a safe and loving environment to grow up in, but the negligence of those in power is putting their lives at risk.

This isn't just about my stepson; it’s about the countless children who are being failed due to systemic corruption. We hear stories daily of children losing their lives because they slip through the cracks in governance meant to safeguard them. This heartbreaking reality must end.

We, as a community, demand accountability from the Smethport Police Borough and CYS who are involved in my stepson's case. We need a transparent investigation into the corruption that is jeopardizing his safety and the safety of other children. Furthermore, we call for immediate implementation of a safety plan for my stepson and step daughter to remove them from the harmful environment and place them into a secure setting. Because her mental health and physical well-being is just as important as my Stepsons, she's going through a different detrimental effect from witnessing this all go on.
