Duck Reunions, a dear friend and hero to many, is currently imprisoned in Tennessee and not receiving the medical care he desperately needs. Duck is more than just an inmate; he's a lifeline, someone who has shown extraordinary kindness and humanity, not just once, but repeatedly, to those in need. I am one of many who owe Duck a debt of gratitude. He helped me get on my feet more than once, giving the shirt off his back, quite literally, to someone who was cold in midwinter. Now it's time for us to stand up for him.

The neglect that Duck is enduring is not just a failure of the medical system within the prison, but a glaring oversight of the justice system as a whole. Inmates have the right to adequate healthcare, a principle enshrined in both U.S. law and international human rights standards. Duck's health is deteriorating rapidly, and each day that passes without proper medical attention puts his life in further jeopardy.

The Eighth Amendment of the United States Constitution prohibits cruel and unusual punishment, and denying essential healthcare falls squarely into this forbidden territory. We cannot stand idly by while the system turns a blind eye to such injustice. Duck’s condition is critical, and immediate intervention is necessary to save his life. We have a moral obligation to ensure that Duck receives the necessary medical care.
