Lidia Thorpe, entrusted to represent the Australian people, has been involved in numerous public incidents that have brought embarrassment and disrespect to Australians. In 2022, she recited the parliamentary oath of allegiance mockingly while derisively labelling the late Queen as a 'coloniser'. A year later, she was caught on tape launching a racist rant at 3am outside a strip club.

Her most recent offence took place at the King Charles Royal Welcome Ceremony on the 21st of October, 2024, at Parliament House. Here, Thorpe emitted foul language and accusations towards the King, behaviour unbefitting of a representative of the Australian people.

These offensive actions are not only disrespectful but are also a clear breach of her duties as a senator, which involves upholding the Oath of Office.

This pattern of disdainful actions signifies a worrying trend of divisive tendencies. This kind of representation is detrimental to the unity and respect that our nation deserves.

We implore Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to hold Lidia Thorpe accountable for her actions and to remove her from her duties forthwith.
