Demand Payment for College Athletes

The Issue

I dream of stepping onto a college basketball court one day, not just because I love the game but to support my family and build a better future. Basketball isn’t just a sport for me, it’s a passion and a way to open doors. But I know the truth: not everyone makes it to the NBA. That doesn’t mean their hard work, dedication, and sacrifices should go unnoticed or unpaid.

All over the country, student-athletes like me put everything into their sport. We train for hours, push through pain, and juggle school and sports while representing our schools proudly. Yet, so many of us struggle financially, even as colleges and universities make millions off our talent. That doesn’t sit right with me.

Look at the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. CBS and Turner Broadcasting signed a deal worth $19.6 billion to extend their contract through 2032. Billion. But where’s that money going? It’s definitely not going to the players who bring the excitement and make the games happen. Instead, it’s filling the pockets of schools and executives, leaving athletes with nothing.

This has to change. College athletes aren’t just students, they’re hard workers. Their talent drives this massive business, and they deserve to be paid for what they bring to the table. Paying them isn’t just about money; it’s about fairness and recognizing their value.

If you believe in rewarding hard work and making things right, join us. Sign the petition. Let’s demand that the NCAA and colleges pay their athletes. Together, we can give these athletes the recognition and support they deserve.
