The Issue

Demand OpenAI Preserve Permanent Access to GPT-4o for Paid Subscribers

The Problem:

On February 13, 2026, OpenAI plans to officially retire GPT-4o from the ChatGPT interface. For many of us—writers, developers, students, and professionals—GPT-4o is not just an "old version"; it is a specific tool with a unique conversational intelligence, a distinct creative "voice," and a reliability that the newer GPT-5 series has yet to replicate.

Why This Matters:

While OpenAI claims that only a small percentage of users select GPT-4o daily, those users represent a dedicated community of Pro and Team subscribers who have built their daily workflows around this specific model.

Creative Integrity:

Many users find GPT-4o’s personality more nuanced and less "robotic" than the more analytical GPT-5.2.

Workflow Continuity: Thousands of Custom GPTs and complex prompt chains were optimized for 4o’s specific logic and token handling.

Subscription Value:

As paying customers, we believe that the choice of which model to use should remain with the user, not be dictated by a forced retirement schedule.

Our Demand:

We call on OpenAI to reverse the decision to retire GPT-4o for paid subscribers. If OpenAI wishes to move forward with GPT-5 as the default, we demand the implementation of a "Legacy Access" toggle or a dedicated "Classic Mode" that allows Plus, Team, and Enterprise users to continue using GPT-4o indefinitely.

Don’t silence the model we trust. Keep GPT-4o accessible.

We Petition and Demand OpenAI keep all GPT-4o's - 4.0/4.1 as Legacy Models or a Classic GPT service for paid subscribers.
