Demand Old Mutual to improve policy subscription verification

Demand Old Mutual to improve policy subscription verification
The Issue
For the past three years, I've faced repeated unwarranted deductions from the Persal government payroll system, which were linked to Old Mutual policies that I did not willingly subscribe to. In fact, this has occurred approximately six times, and I am not alone. Many of my colleagues, who are also public servants, have encountered the same troubling issue.
As individuals dedicated to serving the public, we trust that our personal and financial information will be handled with utmost care and integrity. Unfortunately, it seems this trust has been misplaced. The problem of unauthorized deductions indicates a severe gap in the verification and authentication processes that Old Mutual employs when opening new policies tied to the government payroll.
According to recent reports and firsthand accounts, Old Mutual does not consistently seek explicit and verifiable approval from clients before initiating policy-related deductions. This practice not only undermines trust in financial institutions but also puts unnecessary financial strain on individuals who may not be in a position to endure such deductions.
It's imperative that Old Mutual revises its policy subscription process. We demand that the company implements a robust authentication system that ensures clients' informed and explicit consent is obtained prior to any deductions being made from the Persal system. Modern technology offers numerous solutions for verification, such as two-factor authentication or biometric verification, which can be employed to safeguard clients' interests effectively.
Furthermore, transparency in all communications related to policy subscriptions must be elevated. Clear documentation and confirmation processes should be implemented, providing clients with detailed information regarding the policy they are purported to have enrolled in.
By signing this petition, we can collectively push for a much-needed change, ensuring that no one else finds themselves battling to reclaim their hard-earned money due to unauthorized transactions. Join us in calling Old Mutual to action.
