Aged only 7, Decklan Hayward tragically died after choking on a sausage he was given at a school in Orange, NSW in July last year. First aid by dedicated teachers failed, emergency assistance failed and the NSW Education Department and Minister Prue Car MP have decided not to act to prevent this from happening in the future by considering the LifeVac device. This unevidenced and reckless decision places school students (especially in rural areas) at risk of death or permanent brain injury from severe choking. This is just not acceptable to parents, the community, or the voters and residents of NSW. The NSW DET has gone on to mislead the Minister, breach the WHS Act and manipulate the data for a promised review to deliberately exclude the period Decklan died, using an unconventional financial year. They then claimed to the Minister and the Chief Health Officer that "no child had died during the review period from choking" so they didn't have to do anything.  

LifeVac has now more than 6000 total saves worldwide, and 3500 of these are children.
