The Director of Noah Project, a non-profit animal shelter in Muskegon, MI is currently facing allegations of misappropriation of funds.

The dog in this photo is Spider, a former resident of the shelter who sat for months in excruciating pain while he waited for donations for his surgery. At the same Noah project was sending emails asking for donations to help this poor pup, the director, Mashele Garrett Arndt was taking her personal pets to the vet and charging these vet services to Noah Project. Her dogs have no affiliation with the shelter, they were not adopted from NP and would have no reason to be registered at MULTIPLE vet offices as being owned by Noah Project. This shelter is run strictly on fundraising and donations from our community, misappropriating funds for personal benefit is considered embezzlement and is against the law!! How can we trust that our donations are going to the animals at the shelter that need it when the director has admitted to police that she has charged thousands of dollars of our donations and fundraising money for her own personal use? 

Mashele is claiming to police that the Noah Project was billed in error and she and the board are taking the steps to correct this and replace any funds that were billed incorrectly. How can they allow the person that is being accused of embezzlement to participate in her investigation? The board is supposed to protect the shelter, not cover for a friend or coworker and sweep alleged embezzlement under the rug!!! They have the ability to have charges filed against her or at the very least remove her from her position but they have allowed her to pay the money back and hold her position!

The board can not allow someone who admitted to taking thousands of our donated dollars to continue to hold this position!!
