With Pokemon Home only being supported by games on the switch there are many Pokemon that are unusable on the switch. There really isn't any national dex for the switch at all. Meanwhile many of the people in the community have been asking for older Pokemon games onto the newest console. Gamefreak should take pride in their older games and allow its fanbase to play gens 1-7 onto the switch. With the only major update being optimization, and the ability to transfer your Pokemon to and from Pokemon home. The Pokemon franchise is beloved by millions of people worldwide and the only way to reliably play older Pokemon games is to pirate it online and play it on an emulator.

If The Pokemon Company were to go through with this, they could resell all of the games at full price of their original titles and it would still be a success because people would like to play older Pokemon games, especially veteran players of the franchise.

Now there would definitely be some problems with optimizing the game as far as development goes, especially with DS and 3Ds games with 2 screens. You can very we’ll have the ability to switch screens or play with a split screen with one side being the top screen and the other side being the bottom. 

This part would be optional but also beneficial to the Pokemon community, this being the ability to play competitively with older generations. Like bring back older generations online features. Or you can definitely sell physical copies of the game and not worry about cloud saving and storage. With the only online features being to access Pokemon home and transfer Pokemon to and from games.
