President Herring Announced Retirement

This morning the president announced that she will be retiring next year, June 2027. While we acknowledge this news, we want to be clear: her retirement does not reverse the elimination of 38 positions, bring back the faculty and staff who lost their jobs, or address the lack of transparency that started this petition. She is still here for a full year and the board who approved these decisions are not going anywhere. The coalition and college community are still fighting. We need to make sure that she uses this final year to actually answer for these decisions, not coast to the finish line getting a full paycheck while 38 people are still out of jobs. And we need to make sure the next president knows exactly what this community expects and supports us! We are not done.
