To: City of Wakefield M.D.C
 
We, the undersigned residents of Wakefield MDC, petition the Council to urgently review burial provision in Wakefield, with specific consideration given to the expansion of Sugar Lane Cemetery.
 
And further requests that officers prepare a report to Cabinet and/or Council, at the earliest opportunity, to address this matter.
 
The undersigned petitioners note that:
 
1. Burial Plots at Sugar Lane will soon no longer be available due to capacity issues.
 
2. Sugar Lane Cemetery is one of Wakefield’s oldest and most historically significant      
      burial grounds.
 
3. It has served generations of local families and remains a site of deep personal and cultural importance.
 
4. Residents are deeply concerned about the future availability of plots, particularly for those whose religious beliefs require burial rather than cremation
