Demand Meta use real people to investigate animal abuse & scam accounts

The Issue

Meta is allowing accounts depicting animal abuse/torture, as well as fake animal rescue accounts, to remain active.

I have personally reported approximately twenty accounts on Instagram and Meta's response is always that they didn't find anything wrong with them.

I know (because Meta says so) that they are at least partially relying on AI to respond to such reports.  It's clearly not effective.  I follow a lot of dog rescues and see fake dog rescue accounts (sometimes with tens of thousands of followers) stealing photos and stories/text from legitimate rescues that I follow.  Just think about how much money these fake rescues are taking in; money that should be going to the rescues that are actually saving dogs, not harming them.

I've seen a reel where a man at one of these so-called rescues could be seen kicking a dog in the background and another where a man hit one.  I've seen others where dogs have clearly been starved to the brink of death or injured on purpose in an effort to solicit donations.

Most recently, I've seen a man who tortured and killed a cat and is threatening to do it again in a week's time.  And I've seen several accounts advertising monkey torture videos, with horrible photos and videos included, inviting people to subscribe to paid accounts on other platforms if they want to see more.

Meta can WELL afford to pay real live people to investigate and shut down accounts that are reported for animal abuse or scams.  It would also be helpful if they allowed free text when reporting accounts.  If they did, we could tell them specifically which accounts scammers are stealing content from.

PLEASE sign this petition, demanding better from Meta for defenceless animals around the world and for the legitimate rescues that are trying to help so many of them.  There is NO excuse for allowing animal abuse and torture to continue on Instagram for ANY reason, but especially not for profit.
