Demand Meta to Develop a Linux-compatible Meta Quest Link App

The Issue

As a Linux user passionate about virtual reality (VR) and the accessibility provided by Meta's headsets. I, along with countless others, have been left out of their PCVR functionality. I am penning this petition on behalf of the many Linux users worldwide who have voiced frustrations regarding the lack of a native Linux version for the Meta Quest Link App. Currently, the application is only available for the Windows operating system.

As a community of various individuals, professionals, developers, and gamers, we have chosen Linux for its stability and versatility, directly contrasting the perceived instability of Microsoft's Windows operating system. Our steadfast refusal against Windows comes from our belief in Linux's potential as a platform that serves our diverse needs in a better way. Leaving us without the Meta Quest Link App for our preferred operating system denies us access to a wealth of VR experiences.

The increase of Linux users around the globe is evidential. In fact, data from StatCounter indicates a steady uptick in Linux's desktop OS market share. This growth signifies the increasing importance of ensuring software is accessible across multiple operating systems, not just Windows.

There is a significant need for Meta to recognize the changing dynamics and cater to the expanding Linux users base. We ask Meta to acknowledge our concern and begin developing a Linux-compatible version of the Meta Quest Link App.

Join me in sending a clear signal to Meta about the demand for a Linux version of the Meta Quest Link App. Your signature on this petition is a step forward in fighting for equitable access to software for all. Please, sign this petition.
