I am a veteran of 28 years of full-time service in the Australian Regular Army and have deployed on numerous operations around the world. Mayor Troy Thompson inflated his military service (in a town with the largest base in Australia) to influence and gain veteran votes. He is a disgrace and cannot be trusted to remain in office.

Mayor Thompson has falsely declared his military service, university qualifications, and previous business dealings which influenced the 2024 election.

During the A Current Affair interview conducted on 30 May 24, Mr Thompson revealed he never completed university, exaggerated his military service, and committed forgery. These omissions are unacceptable for someone holding public office.

We the residence can’t afford the uncertainty that’s going to come from a weak and an untrustworthy leader who is willing to lie and deceive.
