My career in animal welfare regularly exposes me to instances of horrific abuse. One case that recently came to my attention involves Havanna Miller in San Antonio, Texas. Residents and video footage confirmed a brutal act of violence against a defenseless 3-month old puppy. Such atrocities committed against defenseless animals must not be tolerated by our justice system. We believe that prosecution and maximum sentencing in cases like this provide a significant deterrence.
