Demand Matt Mullenweg to step down as CEO of Tumblr

The Issue

Matt Mullenweg, aka photomatt, current CEO of the social media website Tumblr, has been severely unprofessional and discrimatory to Tumblr's userbase in the last couple months.

He and his staff have been taking down pro-palestinian posts, pro-Palestinian blogs and have been actively censoring tags relating to Palestine in an attempt to block them from appearing in the #trending page of the site.

Allegedly, Mullenweg is also working for a partnership with OpenAI, which would shatter the trust users have with the website and would endanger the work of every artist, writer and photograph that uses the platform to display their work.

Most recently, staff have targeted transgender women, falsely reporting their benign timeline pictures as sexually explicit or inappropriate, taken down posts and deleting their blogs.

Mullenweg himself, as he was on a three-month vacation, has taken to personally harass some transgender women, most notably the user predstrogen, also known as Avery. She's been harassed for years on end and when she rightfully complained about it by making an obviously joke threat, Mullenwen banned her, chased her off the platform and followed her to X (Twitter) where he harassed her further, while sharing private information as a list of different nsfw, but private and unused, usernames she had saved, which is breaching data law.

These actions do not represent the values of Tumblr. Tumblr has always been advertised as LGBT friendly, which cannot just happenbto exclude Transgender people. Tumblr has a majority of LGBT users, and thus are all impacted in some way or another by the staff's trans exclusionary actions.

Mullenweg and his staff have shown themselves to be discriminatory, unfair, and generally unfit to be in charge of, and represent the community of Tumblr, and should be removed before they cause worse problems for the Tumblr platform.

We demand Mullenweg to step down as CEO and take his hands off any potential staff roles going forward.

We do not want censorship

We do not want an AI-centric platform.

We do not want transgender users to be harassed and targeted on this platform.
