I am a Palestinian. I live the reality of my people's struggle, and it spills over into my personal and professional life. As an employee at a Marriott resort, the corporation's stance on Israeli affairs deeply concerns me. On October 7th, Marriott sent out an email to all associates, ostensibly standing in solidarity with Israel amidst the ongoing conflict. The lack of accountability for Israel's violations, despite mounting evidence of atrocities, deeply pains me.

Marriott has chosen to ignore how its operations in Israel are seated in direct contravention of international laws. With three properties established on land that was seized unlawfully, the company is a passive participant in Israel's systemic displacement of its indigenous Palestinian population. Furthermore, the company's business alliance with Starbucks, another corporation known for its unwavered support for Israel, something that only compounds the matter.

We are in the 21st century, a time where corporations can no longer turn a blind eye to the consequences of their business decisions and alliances. We believe that Marriott can and must do better. As customers and associates of Marriott, we must urge the company to take a stand in favor of the Palestinian struggle for self-determination and justice.
