I am personally struck hard by the continuously rising prices of our monthly electricity bills by American Electric Power (AEP). My AEP electric bill has risen tremendously and it has reached levels that are simply unacceptable. It's not just me, thousands of citizens are struggling to afford these skyrocketing fees that have increasingly burdened our households. According to the U.S Energy Information Administration, the average US residential electricity price was 13.31 cents per kilowatt-hour in Mid-2021, revealing a significant year-over-year increase (U.S Energy Information Administration, 2021). There is no denying that AEP's continued price hikes have outpaced inflation rates and wage growth, causing undue financial strain. There is an urgent need to stop these hiking prices. We strongly urge relevant authorities to intervene and bring about necessary reforms that would result in a lowering of AEP's electric bills.
