The Center On The Lake, our cherished community hub, has become increasingly inaccessible to the very people it is meant to serve. High rental costs have priced out many of our fellow citizens from enjoying this community treasure. Currently, the rates are $750 for an entire day and $125 per hour with a minimum of 3 hours. Other places like Wingfoot Lake's comparable space (Dogwood) renting for around $350 for the day and Tallmadge's community rental Ritchie Memorial Shelter House, charging $400 per full-day weekend rental for non-residents and only $200 per day for Tallmadge residents. 

According to a study conducted by the Public Spaces Research Group, access to community spaces is crucial for supporting local engagement and well-being. 

The current rental pricing by the Trustees is depriving Springfield Township citizens of a vital means of socialization and community building. Therefore, we urge the Trustees to reconsider and lower the rental cost of the Center On The Lake, making it affordable and accessible for all citizens of Springfield Township. This is not just a matter of cost, but a matter of community. Please support this cause by signing the petition.
