Demand Lower Energy Bills from New Jersey Public Utilities

Demand Lower Energy Bills from New Jersey Public Utilities
The Issue
It feels beyond outrageous that the President & CEO of PSEG earns over $11,000,000 annually while the average citizen, earning less than 1% of his salary, has to cope with ever-increasing energy bills. Just last November, a significant change was made to the way we're charged for our energy usage, and yet another increase has just been approved by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. As residents, we're already burdened with some of the highest taxes in the country, while receiving subpar services in return.
A report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration reveals that New Jersey already faces the 10th highest electricity costs in the US [source: EIA]. Now, the average New Jersey family is expected to fork over more of their hard-earned salary to fund 'improvements' for a multi-billion-dollar company whose CEO enjoys a comfortable 7-figure income.
We are asking our elected representatives to help us stand against such unbalanced policies. We need them to intervene, putting pressure on PSEG and the NJ Board of Public Utilities to revise these changes and make energy costs affordable for everyone. It’s time for them to understand that hardworking citizens should not bear the brunt of costly corporate 'improvements.'
Our voices count. Sign this petition to send a strong message to our elected leaders: We deserve better. We demand lower power bills.
