Demand Lincoln County Commission to Allow WVAWC Acquisition of LPSD Water Works

The Issue

Our community has suffered too long from the ongoing problems with Lincoln Public Service District Water Works (LPSD). The water service system is in a dire state, facing financial hurdles that prevent the much-needed comprehensive repairs. These systemic issues have led countless community members, including myself, without water on multiple occasions - imperiling our safety, preventing hydration, and hobbling firefighting capabilities. It is a distressing situation, so much so, that the Public Service Commission of West Virginia has declared LPSD a distressed utility.

This is why I am advocating for the Lincoln County Commission to allow West Virginia American Water Company (WVAWC) to acquire the LPSD Water Works. It is an essential step towards improving our water services, ensuring safety and reliability for everyone in Lincoln and Kanawha Counties, West Virginia. This acquisition must be executed at no additional cost to citizens, taxpayers, or current LPSD customers; we should not have to bear the burden for the requisition that aims to uplift the community's well-being.

It is time for change. It is time Lincoln County Commission addresses this dire issue, so we can secure the safety and well-being of our communities. Join us in urging the Lincoln County Commission to take the necessary steps. Sign the petition, let's fix our water service.
