I'm writing this with a heavy heart and an anxious mind. Just last night, a drone was flying over my home, ominously looming over a skylight where my young children were playing. This was not just a violation of our privacy but an invasive threat to my family's safety.

Drones, while often used innocently for recreation or business operations, can be easily manipulated into tools for spying or harassment. According to the FAA, there were about 1.7 million drone registrations as of 2020, leaving us to wonder how many times privacy has been infringed upon without knowledge or consent (FAA, 2020). We therefore call for state and federal law enforcement to control the misuse of drones flying over residential neighborhoods and homes.

Moreover, we request a comprehensive investigation into the unauthorized use of drones over residential areas with the findings made public. This issue is much larger than an isolated incident; it's a matter of safety for all families living in urban and suburban neighborhoods.

Finally, we ask lawmakers to draft new legislation or amend existing laws related to drone use. Regulatory measures should be stringent to protect residents from unwarranted surveillance and breach of privacy. Privacy is a basic human right and it deserves to be upheld.
