We recall with heavy hearts the tragic case of Scooby, a mother dog who lost her dear canine children, Dooby and Do, due to a despicable act of cruelty conducted by locals in our area who poisoned these innocent lives. As members of a dedicated rescue and feeding group, we raised Dooby and Do as our own and watched them grow under the loving care of their mother, Scooby. Losing them to such a vile act is not only devastating for us but also raises serious concerns about the rampant animal cruelty in our area.

Such horrifying acts are more common than we think. Around 1,920 cases of deliberate poisonings of both domestic and stray pets were reported worldwide in 2020 (Source: World Animal Protection report, 2020). This data is alarming and demonstrates a drastic need for serious legal initiatives against animal abuse.

Therefore, we are appealing to local authorities and animal welfare bodies to not only investigate the hideous act that led to the death of Dooby and Do but also to put robust laws in place to penalize anyone committing such atrocities in the future. Enough is enough! Let the tragic incident involving Scooby's fur babies be the last of its kind. Let us unite to protect these defenseless animals who only ask for love and care.
