Hello, All My Wonderful New Friends,
I just want to take a moment to say thank you, to each and every one of you, from the very bottom of my heart for your support. Especially, those who have went above and beyond, by sharing and donating to this campaign. I see you, and I appreciate you!
This campaign means SO MUCH, to me, and MANY people around the WORLD! Though, we may love and respect our Marilyn, this campaign is truly about the preservation of ALL our Legends Relics.
This campaign may seem dramatic to some, but unfortunately, the huge worldwide influence that Miss Kardashian has, will most certainly give others similar ideas, and has made this campaign absolutely necessary, in order to SQUASH the precedent that was set, BEFORE more damage is done! Many of our Legends are no longer here with us to actively protect their legacies, which means that responsibility falls on US, their TRUE FANS!
My heart literally sank to the bottom of my stomach when I found out the true extent of the damage done to our Marilyns legacy that evening. It was not only ONE of Miss Monroes priceless treasures that was infringed upon, but a few.
The legacy of Miss Monroes "Golden Globe" gown was disgracefully infringed upon, by being worn to an afterparty. While wearing it, Miss Kardashian carelessly wielded around the ACTUAL Golden Globe Award that Marilyn won, for a blatantly distasteful photoshoot.
To not have the foresight as to WHY and HOW this was a problem, not just for the sake of our Marilyns belongings, but for the historical and physical integrity of ALL relics in general, is a problem that NEEDS to be addressed!
If the forementioned atrocities were not enough of a sucker punch to the gut of TRUE Marilyn fans, Miss Kardashian was also gifted a PRECIOUS lock of our beloved Marilyns hair and was told that she was "The Marilyn of our time." This was not only a dishonest cementing of an ego that needs not be enhanced, but an egregious slap in the face to us, and a spoiled cherry atop a heresy pie.
Now, to address the three most common arguments that I have faced against this petition:
- Jealousy: Jealousy would imply that we would like to switch places with Miss Kardashian. This is false. Any TRUE lover of Marilyn would surely be flattered by such an offer but would NEVER even consider stepping themselves into the legacy she left behind. With TRUE LOVE comes TRUE RESPECT!
- Being a hater/ Women bringing other Women down: I am not, nor will I ever, tolerate genuine hate being thrown at any individual. I am a lady and conduct myself as such. I do not hate Miss Kardashian or Ripley's. In regard to Miss Kardashian, I actually have tremendous respect for the truly good things she tries to do in this world, and the good things she HAS accomplished. This has NOTHING to do with hate, this has to do with accountability. Whether they understand it or not, poor choices were made, and wrongdoing was done. Those responsible need to atone for their sins, in order to give assurance that something like this will NEVER happen again!
- There are much bigger things going on in the world right now: They are absolutely 100% correct. We are facing perilous and uncertain times right now in our world. That is firmly understood. However, those situations already have MANY of their own petitions and MANY people around the world working on them. This situation did not have anyone who was taking initiative to do actually do something about it, hence why I took the initiative and created this petition myself. It may technically be trivial in the grand scheme of life right now, but wrong is wrong, regardless of where it falls on the spectrum. This situation hit hard at the heart and nerves of MANY people, so I started this petition to TRY and actively resolve the issue of preserving OUR history.
With all of that being said, I want to thank each and every one of you again, and to humbly ask for your help in getting this petition more signatures. COLLECTIVELY we can make our voices heard! Alone we may be weak, but TOGETHER WE ARE MIGHTY!!!
