Demand Justice to Reunite Mother & Son: 1 Year of Alienation

The Issue

Update 2/3/31: NOW POSTPONED to February 24th, 2021 - again. Please donate to Anny's Legal Fund to help her get the best legal representation possible: Help Reunite a Mother and Her 9 Year Old Son

Update 1/22/21: For the sake of the mother's safety and other legal reasons, we need to remove any specific names on this petition. Some initials were used instead or "the mother".

This is a desperate plea for help for a mother and child.

For the past 10 years, this mother has been desperately fighting for her child's safety from domestic violent abuse by his father, B.Z. She has filed over 30 reports to the Division of Child Protection and Permanency in Hudson County, NJ, in a desperate plea to protect her child, who has come home with back injuries, bruises and even a chipped tooth. Her 9 year old child has even reported being choked, punched in the nose and other violent abuses from his father.  The father has used his position as a civil servant, a firefighter for North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue in Hudson County, NJ, his influence and knowledge of policies and procedures to paint a false narrative against the child's mother in order to deprive her of custody and protect himself. He has successfully used his influence, coming to court dressed in his firefighter uniform, to convince the courts to deflect all his crimes and instead criminalize the mother with false accusations and charges, police reports and restraining orders.

In addition, he has used the court systems to financially abuse the mother and caused her cruel and unusual punishments over these past years. Using his influence in the Hudson County court systems and connections with the Weehawken police department, he has filed multiple false police reports, forced her to endure psychological evaluations that he himself has not been required to and he has created a situation of parental alienation wherein the child has endured months-long separation from the mother and only brother, with zero contact.

In January, the mother had taken her child to see his pediatrician regarding back injuries he received while under custody of his father. This was not long after he had already come home with a chipped tooth from being slammed into a door knob. That night, during the call with his father, when the father got wind of this doctor’s visit, he was enraged and violently insisted that the son deny any kind of abuse had ever happened. The son refused angrily, crying and emotional. The father then called the police on them for a “well-being” check, as he has done on many occasions in the past, in an attempt to harass, intimidate, humiliate and cause undue stress to both mother and child during their very important bonding moments. When the police arrived, she was advised to file a temporary restraining order for psychological harassment and it was granted, as well as temporary custody of the child, by the West Orange, NJ, police department, where she lived at the time.

B.Z., the father, in violation of the restraining order against him, hired a private investigator to stalk and spy on this mother and obtain information about their whereabouts. Then in retaliation, B.Z. went to his “friends” at the Weehawken Police Dept. where he lives, as he has on many occasions in the past, and filed a false missing person’s report on his child knowing clearly he was with his mother. The Weehawken Police Dept. disregarded the temporary restraining order that was in place and granted this false report.

He then used this false report to go to DCP&P, who validated his claim, with no evidence, and they in turn interfered with the mother's custody without due process. When the mother went to her son’s school, her son was already gone and there was a police officer from the Weehawken PD, who was called there by the father, to inform her that her child was not there and she had to leave the premises. She was forced to endure this humiliation. She has lost her parenting time with her son just that quickly. DCP&P banned her from her child’s school, from his pediatrician and she’s not allowed in any way to come in contact with her child, entirely predicated on a lie fabricated by the father and empowered by the Weehawken PD’s fake report.

This new debacle forced onto her and coordinated by the father, successfully interfered with the mother’s ability to protect herself from a clearly volatile and abusive father with a final restraining order. She was now using all her resources to protect herself from false allegations and to reunify herself with her son, who was now forcibly removed from her. He was now in the hands of his abuser. To make things worse, we were now in the middle of a global pandemic which slowed the process down to a halt, extending this separation and parental alienation.

The mother was then forced to months of supervised visits, as if she’s the one endangering her son. The father has successfully turned the entire narrative against the mother, and all the injuries her son incurred has been brushed under the rug.

On August 31st, 2020, during one of these supervised visits with the mother, with Catholic Charities, resourced by DCP&P, she once again discovered massive bruises all over the boy’s body. She asked the father herself about these injuries, who simply refused to respond. She then asked the social worker to please report these injuries to DCP&P, but she didn’t. He had dismissively told the social worker how the injured occurred, which didn’t match with the story the son had told the mother. The mother and child's legal guardian was the one who had to report this herself, with pictures as evidence.

Immediately in retaliation, once again, B.Z., the father, went to his “friends” at the Weehawken PD to file a complaint against the mother, for essentially reporting abuse because he felt “harassed”. The complaint was filed in Weehawken, despite the fact the alleged incident of harassment occurred in Union City, NJ. Predicted on this false charge, a new temporary restraining order was granted to him by the Weehawken Municipal Court, despite the fact it was not in their jurisdiction. DCP&P used this false report, once again, to suspend the mother’s supervised visits. 5 months with zero contact with her child: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, birthdays, his brother’s senior graduation, Mother’s Day, no contact, to this day.

B.Z., the father, is a civil servant and has on many occasions abused his status and his government connections to harass, intimidate and ultimately deprive this mother of her parental rights to her child. He must be held accountable for his manipulation and his lies. DCP&P and the court system has failed this mother from protecting her from immeasurable amounts of psychological, emotional and financial abuse by this man. To this day, she is in a losing battle to be reunified with her child. Court case after court case, she has been denied justice and the system has decided to side with the abusive father for unknown reasons, despite all the evidence in her favor.

On February 3rd, 2021 (NOW POSTPONED to February 24th, 2021), Judge Velazquez will hold a hearing regarding the false restraining order that has been filed against the mother from August 31st, after several adjournments and delays allegedly due to COVID. We ask the public to please reach out to help raise awareness of this blatant abuse of civil power and demand the described parties grant this desperate mother justice.

This mother is demanding justice for this egregious abuse of power, failure of the family court system and institutions that are intended to protect families, like DCP&P, and she is demanding a return of her basic parental rights. She needs to be able to bond with her child. This 9 year old boy has a right to love and affection from his mother, and protection against violent physical and psychological abuse.

One of our primary demands is for Commissioner Christine Beyer, of the Dept. of Child Protection and Permanence to do a case evaluation and to investigate this flagrant abuse of power.

We ask you to please sign this petition in support of justice for this family.
