The Issue

On January 8,2024 the tragic and wrongful death of Wyatt Landon has left not only our community in deep sorrow and indignation but his family,Significant other and friends as well. We are in demand of a full, transparent, and impartial investigation into the actions of the Idaho Falls Police Department (IFPD) that led to this irreparable loss. Our petition calls for accountability at every level-from those directly involved in the incident to the systemic practices that permitted such a tragedy to occur.

We urge local and state officials to:

  • Initiate an independent inquiry free from conflicts of interest
  • Ensure all evidence is promptly and transparently reviewed.
  • Hold those found responsible for negligence or misconduct accountable under the law.
  • Reform current policing practices to prevent future tragedies and rebuild public trust.

Wyatt’s death is not just a personal tragedy—it is a wake-up call for our entire community. It exposes the cracks in a system that is supposed to protect, serve, and uphold the dignity of every human life. When justice is denied in a case like Wyatt’s, it sends a chilling message that some lives matter less than others. A system & town where accountability is real, where every family can trust that if harm comes to their loved ones, that there will be answers, consequences, and justice. A future where young people like Wyatt are not failed by the institutions meant to safeguard them. Our petition calls for accountability at every level-from those directly involved in the incident to the systemic practices that permitted such a tragedy to occur. We are demanding justice for Wyatt because he deserved better. His life mattered. His voice mattered. And now, his story must be a catalyst for change. If we do not stand up now, we risk allowing the same failures to repeat, affecting more families, more lives, and more futures. Our community stands united, demanding justice not only for Wyatt and his family but also for every citizen who deserves to be treated with dignity and protected by those sworn to serve and protect. Let this petition be a catalyst for change, reform, and renewed accountability within the Idaho Falls Police Department.
