The Issue

It pains me to say this, but rape cases have skyrocketed in the past year, and our society seems to be turning a blind eye to this horrific reality. Reread that sentence again and let it sink in. This is not okay. It’s a trend we need to banish before it becomes the norm, where the lives of individuals, particularly our children—the future generation—are shattered, leaving them without hope or safety.

Even more alarming is the normalization creeping into our daily lives. Child trafficking cases are treated as lesser crimes, with leniency often shown that is far greater than that afforded to those involved in financial fraud or minor legal infractions. This inequality is infuriating and sends the message that corruption and negligence have more severe consequences than damaging the VICTIMS’  life forever.

It becomes clear with incidents like the Epstein case where files are redacted, truths are masked, and justice becomes a distant mirage. Victims have rights, and we must stand firm to ensure those rights are honored. Each one of them deserves to live without fear, to be supported, and to see their perpetrators face due justice.

This issue doesn't just affect women and children. It’s everyone's responsibility. This reflects poorly on our collective humanity, and if we stay silent, we are complicit in this indifference to human agony.

Our goal should be twofold: we need stringent laws and reforms that hold abusers accountable and a judicial process that doesn't crumble under the pressure of power. We demand harsher penalties for rape and child trafficking, louder societal condemnation, and increased protection and compensation for victims. Implementation of unbiased, thorough investigations and laws that treat these crimes with the gravity they deserve must become a reality.

We must advocate for transparency in all legal proceedings related to these heinous crimes, ensuring that, unlike in the Epstein case, justice isn’t cloaked behind redacted files and closed doors.

Join me in standing with the victims, in recognizing and amplifying their plight. Sign this petition to demand action and reform from our legislative systems. It’s time we break the cycle of normalizing violence and abuse, protecting our children and the future they represent.
