I was a victim of child sexual abuse and the person responsible for someone elses  trauma is a known predator. However, some believe he doesn't deserve to be in prison, an outcome that is shockingly dismissive of the distress caused by such a crime. It's not just about the physical violation but also the mental scars that haunt us for a lifetime. In the United States, in a study by the Crimes Against Children Research Center, it was identified that one in 5 girls and one in 20 boys is a victim of child sexual abuse (Finkelhor D, Shattuck A, et al). It's a heinous crime that continues to wreak havoc on the lives of millions, and we cannot allow these predators to roam free. We must demand justice for the victims of child sexual abuse, raise awareness of the ongoing crisis, and bring about harsher punishments for perpetrators.
