The Issue

Brian Tenney, former owner of West Coast Game Park Safari in Bandon, Oregon, pleaded guilty to 47 criminal charges — 43 of them for animal neglect. His sentencing is scheduled for September 8.

When investigators raided the park in May 2025, they found Rocko the tiger's body in a freezer. The park claimed he died in a fight. A necropsy found he had starved to death.

A chimpanzee named George had been kept in a plywood box with no windows, in an enclosure too small for him to stand upright. Other animals drank contaminated water. One staff member was responsible for more than 300 animals.

Federal inspectors had been documenting violations for years — unsafe enclosures, missing animals, no veterinary care — and nothing changed until a raid turned up meth, $1.6 million in cash, and dozens of guns alongside the suffering animals.

Both sides agreed to a sentence of seven and a half years in prison and three years of probation. The court must impose it in full.

George is safe now at a sanctuary in Washington. Rocko is not. Sign this petition to demand full justice for every animal that suffered at West Coast Game Park Safari.
