DEMAND JUSTICE FOR SOPHIA WITH THE DELAND FLORIDA POLICE DEPARTMENT!!
The Issue
Sophia was picked up from a rescue and was being fostered for about 3 weeks by a Self proclaimed Dog trainer who called the Police on himself on the bases of being harassed by the animal rescue. When the DELAND Police arrive, they get a statement and what they find can’t be put into words.
The two gentleman who were transporting Sophia “claim” she jumped out of their window without them being made aware, and was dragged for miles outside of their car without them hearing her make a sound.
And allegedly they also claim they didn’t see her dangling outside of the vehicle at any given time. It is beyond my understanding that the Police Department did not make an arrest that day upon finding the dog behind the vehicle mangled and dead. The attached photos show the extend of Sophia’s injuries.
There was a Police report taken that day and animal cruelty charges have been filed on the driver only.
what you are about to see is going to shake you to your core. Sophia deserves JUSTICE, she suffered tremendously at the hands of someone who vowed to protect her and take care of her as she was safely transported. That never happened. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! Please demand justice for SOPHIA! ���‼️��

The report gross diagnoses are:
Friction abrasion through the dog's body
Muscle loss and bone grinding/loss to the left hind limb
Soft tissue loss and bond grinding and loss to the left hind foot and the right hind foot.
Berton Edwards; a man who fostered Sophia and claims to be a dog trainer; contacted the police, not due to having a dead dog in his vehicle, but due to 'harassment' from Sandy Paws Animal Rescue in Fl, clearly due to them being concerned about Sophia. I wonder why?!!!
As the officer states in the bodycam footage, this isn't harassment. It is the rescue telling him they are going to prosecute if he doesn't return her. They don't know she is dead at this point.
There is very little evidence that she jumped out of the window, as the men claim. She was apparently tied to a cage with three leads; yet they didn't notice her chewing through two of them, or realize she had jumped out of the window, or the noise of the much lighter cage that she was tied to moving in any way.
This story does not ring true.
I believe they abused her beforehand and ghosted the rescue for weeks prior to finally agreeing to drop her off.
The 'hanging' and subsequent road injuries were elaborately staged to cover up previously inflicted injuries. They called the police to get their story in first before the rescue could report them.
She was possibly already dead or dying, but she was deliberately pushed out of that vehicle.
I believe Edwards is cited in another case where a dog named Ralph was also killed in his 'care'.
At the very least, they should be charged with neglect and driving without due care.
I want this case reopened, and these men brought to justice. It is unacceptable that this beautiful girl managed to avoid getting shot during the Red Barn Massacre (see below), only to be killed by those that should have been looking after her.

Berton Edwards and Andrew Thomas Tompkins are psychopaths that keep obtaining dogs from rescues and killing them. They must be stopped!
They must have charges imposed on them that will flag up to anyone involved in dog rescue when they no doubt attempt to get another dog to foster.
The officers didn't believe them that night, and nor should you. Please reopen the case.
