(Updated) Sabrina Khan-Williams, Angela Wolf, and Hajur El-Haggan, three dedicated educators, were unjustly placed on administrative leave. Their  "crime" was to speak out against a genocide and ethnic cleansing that has been ongoing for over 75 years. These posts are labeled as “antisemitic” in order to justify the punishment of these teachers for using their right to speak up against an issue that is morally wrong. This action is not only unfair to these individuals but also undermines the principle of free speech that our society holds dear. It sends a chilling message to other educators who might want to raise awareness about important global issues. We believe that this punitive action is unwarranted, especially considering that the comments made were simply in support of Palestine and showing opposition towards the Israel Defense Forces. We call upon the Board of Education and Montgomery County to reverse this decision immediately, reinstate Sabrina Khan-Williams, Angela Wolf & Hajur El-Haggan in their positions without any further delay, and uphold the right of educators to speak out on matters of public concern without fear of retaliation.
