Demand Justice for Putih, the Abused Stray Dog in Juru, Penang
The Issue
Putih, a stray dog from Juru, Penang, has suffered tremendously.
He was was a tame , friendly dog , chained during office hour as one neighbour dislike him , but on day without any reason ,or clue , the neighbour suddenly came with a 120cm wood plank and beat Putih .poor baby shout in pain, helplessly beaten by the heartless man , and no way to escape till he fell into drain beside him , and yet he continued beat him with no mercy.Putih was left severely injured.
We have reported this case to Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), hoping to hold the abuser accountable.Putih has been held in their pound waiting for his justice since December last year.
This is a horrific reality that no animal deserves. Abuse cases like this largely go unreported and when they do surface, it's often the victims who suffer more.
The question that arises is, do stray animals, like Putih, not have rights? Are there any provisions or protections for them in our legal system? Must a stray dog suffer torment and then isolation?
