Devastatingly, on June 22, 2024, Angela's cherished pet, Pete, took his last breath. This heartbreaking event is not just about the loss of a loyal companion and family member. It is a tragic example of the negligence that can occur within rescue organizations, as Pete's untimely demise was the result of the failure by Legend of the Paws and Rescue Dog 911, who did not follow appropriate vetting and quarantine protocols.

This is a personal outcry for justice, as a fellow animal lover and protector, I believe it is our collective responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of every animal rescued. Don’t want others  become victims of unfortunate circumstances.

In honor of Pete, I appeal to everyone to demand better practices and accountability from rescue organizations. We must insist on mandated regular checks, trained staff, and absolute transparency in their processes. Strict adherence to these norms could prevent more heartbreaking outcomes and ensure a loving environment for every rescued animal, as they journey towards their forever homes.
