Demand justice for Onyx and hold Pets ER accountable

Demand justice for Onyx and hold Pets ER accountable
The Issue
Onyx, a beloved pet, was taken to the veterinary clinic known as Pets ER in Salisbury, MD on 10/30/25 for care. However, in a shocking turn of events, Onyx never came back home. Without any permission from the owner, Onyx was euthanized. To further add to the anguish, his remains were cremated without any consent. Such actions are not just unethical but appear to be a gross violation of rights.
He was taken from his family unlawfully, and the people responsible are still operating freely.
Since sharing Onyx’s story publicly, hundreds of other families have come forward with similar experiences at the very same facility, each story echoing the same pain, betrayal, and unimaginable loss. This is not an isolated incident; it’s a pattern of negligence and abuse that demands immediate action.
No family should ever experience this level of betrayal from those we trust to protect our animals. Pets ER’s actions were not a “mistake.” They were deliberate, deceptive, and devastating.
We are demanding that:
1. The Maryland Veterinary Board conduct a full investigation into Pets ER and revoke the licenses of those responsible.
2. The Maryland Attorney General’s Office pursue legal action for falsifying medical records and unauthorized euthanasia.
3. Stronger laws be implemented to ensure no animal can be euthanized or cremated without verifiable written consent from the owner.
We need to bring awareness to Onyx's story to prevent this heartbreaking situation from happening to another family. Your signature is crucial in demanding accountability and protecting our pets' rights and dignity. Together, we can ensure that our pets are treated with the utmost respect and care they deserve. Please sign this petition to hold Pets ER accountable and to protect the futures of our beloved animals.
