My beloved dog, Nova, was nearly killed in our own backyard while she was leashed. Two loose dogs attacked her without provocation. This traumatic incident has left us shaken and fearful for the safety of other pets in our community of Waterloo, Iowa.

Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately 4.5 million dog bites occur each year in the United States. This statistic highlights a serious issue that needs immediate attention.

We are calling on local authorities to enforce stricter animal control laws to prevent such incidents from happening again. Specifically, we demand that the two dogs who attacked Nova be humanely euthanized to ensure they cannot harm another pet or person again.

Furthermore, we insist that their owners be held accountable and prohibited from owning any more animals in the future as they have demonstrated irresponsibility towards their pets' behavior which led to this horrific event.
