North's story is one that is both tragic and infuriating. On Friday, March 13, officers came to our door late in the evening with the heart-wrenching news that North had been found with a gunshot wound to the head, discarded in a ditch in the compound where he was supposed to be safe. This horrifying discovery was not just a loss for us but a glaring injustice that demands accountability.

North was placed in an approved foster home by  (BARK) Brevard Alliance Rescuing K9s in Brevard county Florida, with explicit instructions to safeguard his well-being. He was not just any animal; North was a survivor. As one of our Parvo survivors, North had fought alongside his siblings, overcoming challenges that many others do not. He was resilient, gentle, and full of life, deserving a future filled with safety and love.

Despite his brave history and the love he received in our care, North's life was tragically cut short. On March 29, 2026, we received the devastating news that the State Attorney’s office will not be pursuing the case due to circumstantial evidence.  This decision is deeply disappointing and feels like an erasure of North's life, diminishing the value of his existence.

We refuse to accept this outcome. North’s life mattered, and his story deserves a just conclusion. We demand that those responsible for this heinous act be held accountable for their actions.
