I am writing this petition out of deep personal pain and anger. A local news report and then a post on Facebook brought to my attention the horrifying case of a dog adopted by April Sloan our elected Washington County Controler of Pennsylvania ;

Mrs. Sloane who was allowed to starve her dog Thor to death! Not only did she neglect this innocent creature, but she also left its body in her home for 10 days after it died.  And she has a history of outburst and attacks on others encluding her children. She must be removed from her position and shown there are consequences to her actions or lack there of.

This is not just a case of animal cruelty; it's a gross violation of trust by someone who code of conduct is unacceptable that someone in such a position could commit such an act in reprehensible.  She has to be held accountable. 

Animal cruelty is a serious issue. Accordinooog to the Humane Society, nearly 1 million animals are abused or killed each year due to some form of domestic violence [source: Humane Society]. This incident involving April Sloane adds one more unnecessary death to this staggering statistic.

We demand that April Sloane be removed from her position at Washington County Control immediately. We also call for her conviction and imprisonment for animal cruelty charges as per the Animal Welfare Act which states that any person who causes unnecessary suffering or harm towards animals can face imprisonment [source: Animal Welfare Act].

We cannot allow individuals like April Sloane who show complete disregard for life and well-being of animals continue in positions where they have control over these innocent lives. Let us stand together against animal cruelty and demand justice for this poor dog.
