The Issue

On August 6th, 2026, Nathalie Susana Xoy, a vibrant 26-year-old, lost her life in a tragic car crash at the corner of 17th and Glencoe in Denver, Colorado. Nathalie was a beloved daughter, a cherished friend, and a bright soul who had so much more to give to this world. The incident that shattered her loved ones' lives and ripped her away from us was not just an accident—it was a preventable crime.

The driver responsible, Kamyla Zuniga-Ortega, not only sped recklessly through the streets of our community but also blatantly ignored multiple stop signs. Despite her dangerous actions and a history of prior traffic violations, she received nothing more than a ticket for careless driving. This is not justice. According to Colorado law, her actions align with vehicular homicide, yet she continues to walk free, unaffected by her fatal irresponsibility.

Reckless driving should never cost a life. Nathalie's untimely death highlights the glaring inadequacies in our legal response to road safety violations. Kamyla's actions were not just negligent; they were criminal. We cannot stand by while a life is snuffed out, leaving behind grieving parents, siblings, and a community shaken by this loss. Nathalie deserves justice, and we owe it to her memory to ensure such tragedies are prevented in the future.

To honor Nathalie's memory and protect others from experiencing similar tragedies, we demand that the authorities reassess Kamyla Zuniga-Ortega’s case. We call upon the Denver District Attorney's Office to charge her with vehicular homicide, a charge befitting the gravity of her actions.

Enforcing stricter consequences for habitual offenders not only provides justice but also serves as a deterrent to prevent future occurrences of such heinous acts. We must hold those accountable who choose to endanger lives with their reckless disregard for rules and safety.

Join us in demanding justice for Nathalie Susana Xoy. Stand with her family, with her community, with all who knew and loved her. We need your support to let the authorities know that Nathalie's life mattered. Her loss should not fade into silence or be shrugged off by a simple ticket. Sign this petition to ensure that her tragic death leads to fair legal action and reinforces our commitment to making our streets safer for everyone.
