The Issue

Kiara Agnew was a beloved sister, daughter, cousin, friend, and niece with a vibrant life waiting to unfold. Her life was tragically cut short on what was supposed to be a joyful birthday vacation in Mexico. It should have been a time of celebration and happiness, but instead, it became a nightmare when her boyfriend, the person she trusted, ended her life.

The evidence against him is irrefutable. He was discovered beside her lifeless, brutally beaten body. His knuckles were swollen and bloodied, her DNA clear on his hands. This horrific act was not an isolated incident; Kiara's journal sadly paints a picture of ongoing abuse, and records of domestic violence were well documented. Her friends bravely came forward, sharing how Kiara lived in constant fear.

Despite this mountain of evidence, justice has not been served as swiftly as it should be. The legal system must act decisively to hold the perpetrator accountable for his actions and ensure he does not harm another soul.

We call upon authorities both in Mexico and within international human rights organizations to prioritize Kiara’s case. Her story is not just a statistic; she is a woman whose life merits recognition and justice. We cannot bring Kiara back, but we can work to ensure that her murderer never has the opportunity to act again.

Sign this petition to demand justice for Kiara. Together, we can make sure her voice is heard and her story effects change.
