The Issue

Father, Son, Brother, Friend and Family Man Hugo Cachua , an unarmed man, who was ruthlessly gunned down by an off-duty LAPD Officer after what should have been a simple traffic incident on May 30th, 2024 in Ontario California. The dashcam video that was recorded provides undeniable evidence of this horrifying act. We are left bereft and in search of justice for my brother, who did not deserve to lose his life that day. It is time to take serious action against the indiscriminate use of power by some police officers.

In recent years, California has been the stark backdrop of multiple officer-involved shootings, many of which resulted in the death of unarmed civilians. The Washington Post's police shooting database reveals that California alone had the highest number of fatal police shootings in the country last year. This disturbing trend needs to stop.

Please understand the severity behind this issue with the police, not all are officers are bad or have malice intent but when a officer (off-duty/medical leave) has recorded history of misconduct, reoccurring events (multiple shootings) and protocols are not being followed ask yourself; What if this can happen to someone I love? Is there a systemic issues here?

Hugo Cachua was unarmed, no history of violence, no criminal history and a Average AMERICAN CITIZIN.

To ensure justice, we are urging for the immediate arrest and charging of the involved officer Victor Corral Division: Central Division Rank: Police Officer II Year Of Hire: 1995.

Furthermore, we implore the State of California and the LAPD to undertake an intensive review of their use-of-force policies, proper monitoring and  protocols for officers and training methods. Our goal is to prevent more innocent lives from being lost at the hands of those sworn to protect us.

Please, support our cause and add your signature to our petition. It is time to send a clear message that this level of police brutality is unacceptable and that justice must be served. Sign this petition and help us seek justice for our beloved Hugo Cachua.
