The Issue

In 2012, our beloved Fr. Joe Moreno was tragically taken from us. His death was originally ruled a suicide, but since that heart-wrenching day, we've uncovered evidence suggesting he was murdered. Fr. Joe had a sacred mission: to blow the whistle on the Diocese of Buffalo for its appalling involvement in the sexual abuse of minors and subsequent cover-ups. His courage in seeking justice for the innocent  cost him his life.

As Fr. Joe's twin sister and father, Sue Moreno and Joe Sr., our grief is compounded by the unsettling nature of his death. For years, our family has been tirelessly advocating for the truth to shine through the shadows of silence and deceit. New evidence has surfaced pointing to intentional harm rather than self-infliction, and we can no longer remain silent in pursuit of justice.

Our goal is clear: to have Fr. Joe's death certificate amended to reflect the reality of his demise. This isn't just about a document; it's about restoring Fr. Joe's honor, demanding accountability, and ensuring no other whistleblower faces such a tragic fate.

The path won't be easy, but with your support, we can urge authorities to re-evaluate the investigation into Fr. Joe's death, taking into account the critical evidence that has been unearthed. We are calling upon the Erie County District Attorney's Office to re-open this case, seek the truth, and pursue justice.

By signing this petition, you join our family and countless others in demanding a fair and thorough investigation that could lead to a rightful conclusion. We ask you to stand with Fr. Joe, honor his bravery, and uphold justice for those who cannot fight for themselves. Your signature is crucial in this journey. Help us turn the tide and ensure Fr. Joe’s death stands for truth and justice.

Please sign and share this petition now to support our cause and help bring transparency and justice to Fr. Joe Moreno's case.
