Demand Justice for Children Killed in Miami Sailing Camp Tragedy

Demand Justice for Children Killed in Miami Sailing Camp Tragedy
The Issue
Two children are dead. Two more are fighting for their lives. And a community is grieving after an unimaginable tragedy unfolded during a children's sailing camp in Miami.
On July 28, 2025, a barge collided with a small sailing boat carrying kids and one adult during their final week of camp. The crash left the children’s boat submerged. First responders pulled six people from the water. Two children were pronounced dead at the hospital. Two others remain in critical condition.
These were kids — ages 7 to 15 — doing something they loved, in a setting that should have been safe. Instead, their lives were ended or forever altered in an instant.
We’re calling on the U.S. Coast Guard and the City of Miami to launch a full and transparent investigation into how this collision happened. If a barge was operating unsafely, or if protocols were ignored, we deserve to know. And if this tragedy reveals deeper failures in safety regulations or oversight, then they must be fixed immediately — before another child is lost.
The families, the survivors, and the community deserve more than thoughts and prayers. They deserve justice.
This petition is not just about one crash — it’s about making sure the waters around Miami, and everywhere our kids learn and play, are safe. Boating companies, camps, and regulators must be held to the highest standard, because children’s lives are not expendable.
Sign now to demand a full investigation, public accountability, and urgent safety reforms. These kids deserve justice — and we all deserve peace of mind that it won’t happen again.
