Demand Justice for Child Abuse Victims: Charge Abusive Parents as Adults

The Issue

As a mother to a young boy, who is only a month older that the 6 month old girl this has happen to it pains my heart to reflect on the deeply disturbing story of a woman who inflicted unimaginable cruelty on her own daughter—filming and selling videos of her sexual abuse. The haunting cries of that precious child and the harrowing images created by this 16 year old mother are enough to leave any parent utterly shattered. Tragically, this is not a tale spun from the pages of a horror novel; it is a grim reality that is local to the city of San Diego, Ca.

We must confront the uncomfortable truth: there is something profoundly wrong with a system that allows a mother—regardless of her age—to perpetrate such heinous acts against her child without facing appropriate consequences. Reports indicate that nearly five children die every day in the U.S. as a result of child abuse, with over 70% of these innocent souls being under the age of three. This is not merely a statistic; it represents lives taken out too soon, dreams stolen, futures robbed, smiles and happiness taken away, scared children, and ruined lives.

The urgency for reforms that hold parents accountable for their actions cannot be overstated. We must demand a judicial system that treats abusive parents as adults, regardless of their age when they commit these atrocious acts. We can no longer afford to turn a blind eye, hoping that these horrors will fade away on their own. Each child who suffers in silence deserves the promise of justice as a child of molestation I will not sit here an let the baby have no justice and be brought back to her mother like nothing happen an to it possibly continuing.

It is time for us to unite and take action. We must apply collective pressure on our lawmakers to prioritize the safety and well-being of our children. I urge you to sign this petition, advocating for a system that charges abusive parents—even if they are minors—as adults. Your voice matters, and your signature can be a powerful catalyst for change. Together, we can bring justice to the young victims of abuse who desperately need our support. Please, take a stand and sign this petition today. Let’s make a difference—together.
