De’Angelo Miles had just graduated from high school. He was 17 years old and getting ready to serve in the U.S. Navy. But three days after his graduation, he was found shot in the head in a South Side alley. His life was stolen before it could truly begin.

No one has been arrested. No suspect is in custody. And yet another Chicago family is being forced to grieve without answers.

De’Angelo wasn’t a troublemaker. He was a bright, warm-hearted kid who brought joy to everyone around him. His principal called him a leader—someone who made their school community better every day.

We cannot let his murder be another unsolved case, another forgotten name.

We demand that the Chicago Police Department immediately prioritize this investigation and bring De’Angelo’s killer to justice. His family, his friends, and his community deserve more than condolences—they deserve action.

A child was taken. Someone pulled that trigger. We will not stay silent until there is justice.
