The Issue

Introduction:

I was paralyzed in a horrific Houston car crash — but instead of being treated as the victim, I was falsely accused as the driver, denied insurance coverage, and left homeless without medical care.

On November 26, 2023, I was a passenger in a Jeep that overturned in Montrose, Houston. I was ejected from the vehicle and left unconscious, bleeding, and paralyzed on the ground. Multiple eyewitnesses confirmed I was the passenger, while another man was trapped in the driver’s seat. Despite these facts, the Houston Police Department misidentified me as the driver, never interviewed me, and filed charges against me while I lay paralyzed in a hospital bed. This false identification had devastating consequences:

I am now permanently paralyzed from the waist down.

My medical bills already exceed $1.7 million, with lifetime costs expected in the millions.
Progressive Insurance denied my claim, relying solely on HPD’s flawed report and ignoring eyewitness statements and medical evidence.
I have lost my career, my home, and my independence.

This is more than one man’s tragedy. It is a systemic failure: police negligence, prosecutorial misconduct, and insurance bad faith. HPD’s failure to investigate properly echoes the recent scandal where more than 264,000 HPD cases were suspended or mishandled.

What I’m Asking For:

That HPD and the City of Houston acknowledge their investigative failures and correct the record.

That the Harris County District Attorney’s Office review and dismiss the false charges filed against me.

That Progressive Insurance pay my rightful claim and be held accountable for its bad faith denial.

I am fighting for justice, not just for myself, but for every victim of police negligence and insurance abuse. Please stand with me and sign this petition to demand accountability and systemic change.

Together, we can make sure no one else suffers like this again.
