In April 2022, a dog named Buddy was found as a stray and taken to Miami Dade Animal Services (MDAS). He was returned to his deviant owner. 

Despite being brought into the shelter in dire condition, with an infected collar causing severe facial swelling, Buddy received minimal care from MDAS. For two days, no rescue pleas were made or help sought for this suffering animal. When a rescue organization finally put a hold on Buddy, it was tragically too late - he was found dead in his kennel.

This incident is not just about one dog; it's about the systemic issues within MDAS that allowed such negligence to occur. It's estimated that thousands of animals pass through their doors each year (source: Humane Society), and if cases like Buddy's are overlooked, it raises serious concerns about the welfare of all animals under their care.

We demand justice for Buddy and call for immediate reform at MDAS to ensure proper veterinary care is provided promptly upon intake of any animal in distress. We also urge stricter vetting processes for potential adopters to prevent future tragedies like this one. We DEMAND prosecution for his adopter!
