We are left heartbroken and appalled by a recent incident in which a nine-month-old baby was seriously harmed by someone who intentionally spilled scalding hot liquid on him. This atrocity is deeply personal to us as we strive to seek justice for this innocent baby boy who suffered unimaginable pain. National statistics show that child abuse cases are alarmingly high. According to the National Children's Alliance, nearly 700,000 children are abused in the U.S annually (source: National Children's Alliance, 2020).

When such an egregious act is committed, it is vital that it is met with stringent legal action. This individual, responsible for causing such harm, should face full legal consequences. It is our belief that spilling hot liquid on a defenseless baby, causing severe injuries, warrants severe punishment, up to life imprisonment, under the purview of child abuse laws.

As a collective, we can shed light on this incident and demand our legislators to take notice and ensure such brutal actions are met with equally severe punishment.
