Got called C25-00445
My story says I was a stray dog, someone let me into their house and I bit their dog several times because I was protecting my resources.
I was seized by the police and taken to Proanima.
Been there and not vetted. I was put in a pen, next to a dog that never went outside.
I was terrified of facing the same fate as him. To never be free again.
A little better luck though... I hadn't bit a human myself.
I was able to be let out by the nice animals who called me "Athena".

Then after 15 days someone noticed I had a round belly and I was producing milk.
And then it all happened so fast...
Getting checked out for the first time since I arrived.
An x-ray of my belly was done: at least 9 term babies were in my belly.
I could give birth any day.

Since I bit a dog, the City has asked for a hazard assessment.
And for the humans of Proanima who didn't know me, I was just a file.
I was only C25-00445.
One dog that bit another dog
A "targeted race".
A difficult dog to adopt, they say.

The same day humans found out I was expecting puppies, they killed me, with my babies in my belly.
10 lives stopped at once.
Because on paper, I was just C25-00445.

My name is Athena, and my journey to survival isn't just about me. I was a stray dog, roaming the streets when someone showed me a moment of kindness. They let me into their home, but fearing for my resources, I acted out of instinct. I bit their dog several times, not out of malice, but because I was scared and alone. That moment led to the police seizing me, and I was taken to Proanima.

In Proanima, I was confined to a pen with a fellow canine who never saw the outside world. I was terrified that I would never be free again, that my entire existence would be reduced to the shadows of a confinement cell. I had a speck of hope, though - I hadn't bitten a human. This small mercy allowed me a chance for freedom, one that was given to me by the kind beings who called me "Athena."

However, even this glimpse of freedom was overshadowed by a heart-wrenching tragedy. I was pregnant, carrying 10 little lives within me. Despite my circumstances, I loved those puppies with every fiber of my being. But the cruel decision was made, and all 10 of my puppies were killed. Their lives snuffed out before they even had the chance to begin. The sorrow of that loss is immeasurable, a wound that may never heal.

This isn't just about my pain; it's a call for justice for all animals who find themselves voiceless in the system. We must demand better care, humane treatment, and compassion for animals like me who find themselves in the hands of shelters and law enforcement.

By signing this petition, we urge the authorities to investigate my case and implement policies that prevent such tragedies from happening again. No animal should endure the loss I faced, and no mother should mourn her unborn children because of systemic failures. Together, let's stand for justice for the voiceless. Please sign and share this petition to help prevent future injustices.
