I, Rabbi Yaakov Avraham, make this statement in support of Elisabeta Moldovan whom I have known for many years through our synagogue community.

Elisabeta Moldovan is not, and has never been, an unfit mother. I have always known her to be caring, responsible, and devoted to her child.

In or around 2013, Elisabeta Moldovan came to my wife and me at the synagogue in a distressed and fearful state. She told us that a man had been stalking her, abusing her, and pressuring her into having an abortion. She made it clear to us that they were never partners and were never in a relationship, despite his claims.

At that time, members of the community also reported seeing this man around the Stamford Hill area, walking near and around the synagogue and appearing to look for her. On one occasion, Elisabeta showed us visible bruises on her face and arms, which she said he had caused.

She appeared frightened and traumatised. This disclosure was made long before any court proceedings, at a time when she was seeking help and safety. I had no reason to doubt her truthfulness.

I respectfully state that the allegations against Elisabeta are not consistent with the person I know. I do not believe she is an unfit mother and believe she has always acted in the best interests of her child.

I confirm that this statement is true to the best of my knowledge and belief.
