On an innocuous day in 2018, the horrific tragedy that befell Steven Bond changed his life forever. An unprovoked and brutal attack by Jacob Byer left Steven severely injured; so much so that he spent an entire year in Westmead Hospital. Right from the onset, his situation was dire—he was in a coma for three months, and the trauma his body endured was beyond comprehension. Steven’s life hung by a thread multiple times, as he faced death on five separate occasions.

During this brutal assault, Steven sustained grotesque injuries: one of his ears was severed, and horrifyingly, his left eye was ripped from his socket. Despite surviving this gruesome attack, Steven's journey towards healing has been long, exhausting, and fraught with challenges. But what compounds this tragedy further is that Steven has never received any compensation for the unimaginable ordeal he's endured.

Since 2018, Steven has been tirelessly fighting for his rights without success. His battle for compensation continues to be met with roadblocks, adding insult to injury. It is an undeniable shame that someone who has been through such a devastating experience should also have to fight for the justice and support that he so justly deserves.
